hey guys,
I have a 99 Ex coupe with a few mods on but i havent done anything completely major. just an axle back greddy and an aem sri engine wise. but just recently my car started making loud popping noises (which i assumed could be back fired but i could be wrong) and the car sputters when accelerating in every gear. I thought it could be the fuel filter because another forums said that might be the problem, but it still continues. just last night my check engine light went on after a really loud pop. Im in the dark here so if you have any input let me know please!!

Is it at a low RPM? then gradually stops as the RPMs climb?

had some what the same problem on my 2000 ex. mine was it would idle at about 300 rpm at stop lights, and bog down and seem to lose power then back fire. Fix was changed distributor, spark plugs and spark plug wire.

its only when im accelerating. other than that, idle is fine. and its weird because it happens only sometimes. i commute about 50 miles every other day and after the commute the engine runs fine. only sometimes i get the loud popping sound and difficulty in accelerating. just ran some codes as well and im getting p0301, p0303, p0300, and p1399. so dont know exactly what the next step should be.

it was the dizzy and the rotor. gotem switched out and back in action!

im having the same problem when i rev it up it backfires and surges it feels like but it idles fine
