Check Engine Light problems
Check Engine Light problems
In april 2010 my check engine light came on.
The computer code for the light is P1457 and the probable causes are:
loose fuel cap,
vapor canister saturated,
failed vent solenoid,
and failed purge solenoid.
I had a mechanic pinpoint what the problem was and he said i needed to replace the Evap. bypass solenoid.
In May 2010 I got that part replaced and then a few days later the light came back on again.
Does anyone know what could be the problem? I've already spent so much money at the mechanic I don't wanna go again until I do some more research.

Re: Check Engine Light problems
you should take it back and have them pull the codes again im a mechanic at a big name shop and if i had done the work i would have to recheck it for free....so they should recheck it for free since they told you it was that part
