Question Strange wire A/C qusetion

Me and my dad have been trying to figure out what the heck this wire is and where does it connect. We speculate that this is the problem to my a/c blowing hot air and not cold air. Can anyone help us.

Re: Strange wire A/C qusetion

Might as well check it, if this is the compressor it would hook up to #6. I'm just taking a shot in the dark here... I really have no idea.

Also, if your throwing a CEL, get it read. Will probably tell you where that wire goes

You might be on to somthing, maybe a thermal switch from the compressor.

Check to see where that wire leads, if on top of the compressor, might be thermal switch.

it looks like the plug on top of the a/c dryer underneath the alternator (long cylinder looking piece)
