1998 Honda Civic EX Coupe

Just got this car for my grad present and im already looking to soup it up. EVERYTHING in it is stock including speakers etc. I have a budget of $2,000-$2,500 to make it "better".

My brother is being nice and giving me the following:
-A dyno tune up when i want
-New paint job

My question is, what parts/acessories should i upgrade with?

(If it matters my mileage is just above 120,000)

Well, a full cold air first off is what you start with. A full In - bumper cold air from AEM is $250. I plan to re - do my whole intake system. AEM cold air, BBK 70mm Throttle body and BBK Intake Manifold. I'll probably invest in a turbo sometime at the end of summer. The throttle body and manifold will set you back about $300 each from Summit. If your brother runs a dyno, I'm sure he has the ability to tune your VTEC as well if you do in fact have VTEC. You can find good equations to find your best fit for VTEC as the 5500 rpm stock engagement is far too high to do anything with. If you don't have VTEC, I suggest a Mini Me swap. A VTEC head is only $65.

Re: 1998 Honda Civic EX Coupe

I'm looking to sell my car. Currently, it needs the transmission fixed, which would cost about $800. It has 150,000 miles on it. It also has quite a list of minor problems that you would expect from a car that is 18 years old. The only abnormal problems are from when I got into a car accident in 2012. The passenger door was replaced and the frame doesn't quite match up with the driver's side door. Also, the mirror was replaced on the passenger door (yes, of the replacement) because I accidentally broke it off in my garage.
When it rains, water gets into the trunk. If it rains REALLY hard, water leaks in the driver's side window and the water from the trunk can get the back seats wet. In 2013, we fixed the transmission, which cost about $2,600.

I bought it in 2011 with about 83,000 miles on it. The guy before me installed an aftermarket radio that has a plug for Apple devices that carry the generation 4 charging port and lower. That also disconnected the lighting from the door, so when I opened my door, the lights wouldn't turn on. I was able to manually fix that in 2013.

My current options:

1) Should I repair my car?
The transmission guy said if I repair it, I could sell it for 2K. I am not completely ignorant when it comes to my car, but I know a little. I also know about FMV and I feel like that price is a bit much.

2) Should I sell my car without repairs?
KBB says its worth between $400 and $900

3) Should I sell my car for parts?
If so, is there an estimate that I could get on how much it would be worth if I broke it down?

Thank you so much if you can help me out.
