Re: jumper plug /diagnostics plug

damn ! I think i just shorted something.
I saw a spark, as i was messing with the 16-pin underneath the steering wheel.

I was trying to get my cel to flash the appropriate codes... But that's another story.

Now my the-key-is-in-the-ignition-and-the-driver's-door-is-open chime doesn't work, neither does the overhead light, even when in the on position...

please help !

You might of blown a fuse. As for jumping for the CEL that I believe is done at the computer not the OBD port.

Re: jumper plug /diagnostics plug

cel flashing in the obd port is only on 7th gen civics. on an 6th gen its a blue or gray 2 pin conector between the glove box and pasenger door. under the dash. might be slightly behind the carpit.

as for the spark if u conected pin 16 to gnd then yea u shorted out the fuse and need to replace it. i dont know on the earlyer civics but check the backup fuse or all the fuses in the under the hood fuse box.

Yeah, i changed the "interior lights" fuse and that's fixed.
I'm still at a loss to find the diagnostics plug, though...
Is it under the glove compartment, under the kick panel, or what ???

Go to the pass side, get on the floor and look to the kick panel under the glove box. I think you need to remove the platice cover and pull some carpet back to find it.

Re: jumper plug /diagnostics plug

Ah ! I finally found it !
It was actually hidden behind the ecu, so I had to remove it before I could access the jumper plug.

But with all your help I finally did it !

It flashed some codes, but that's for my other thread...

Thanks again for all your help !
