Removing and cleaning liquid spill underneath the shift ****

I was driving my girlfriends Civic 99 EX Automatic with a drink in the cup holder. Accidentally accelerated too hard at a green light and ended up spilling my entire drink all over the center console area. I was able to get most of it out, but a lot of it seeped into the crevice of the shift ****. Can anyone point me to a guide that can show me how to take apart the shift **** and clean the inside?

Thanks!

Can't point you to a guide but pull out the 4 screws that hold the rear center console, pull back and out. Then take out the 4 screws that hold in the front center console and remove.

Was your drink sugar and milk free? For your sake I hope so. Ick.
