Is it bad to install a breather?

I have a 2000 civic ex.. Is it bad to instal a breather filter from the engine?

if you're referring to the breathers that come off the valve cover and soak up oil vapors they aren't a bad thing but they'll gum up with oil and start looking like dirty butt hole. I'd opt for a catch can.

Leave the Honda engineers to do their work...leave it stock. Burning those oil vapors is a much cleaner/smarter idea.

Filters would need to be replaced and/or cleaned every once in awhile... The hoses usually last more than 15 years.
