noob question about type r valve springs
I know this is a bit of a noob question but i've been looking around and can't find a damn thing. I have a skunk2 pro1 intake cam and they make power to 9500rpm. Problem is I'm using stock P30 valvetrain and I don't want to rev past the stock SiRII 8200 rpm rev limit and I was looking into a type r valvetrain. My question is, I know the type r redlines at 8500, can I safely rev to 9500 with stock type r valves springs seats etc? Sorry for the noob question but I can't find an answer anywhere...
thanks for the help guys

Re: noob question about type r valve springs
Hmm. If you swap out for ITR valves(since they are in fact lighter than b16a), valve springs and retainers, not really. You may want to go with lighter weight retainers (like Ti). 9,000 is fairly safe in stock ITR trim, 9,500 would be pushing it. Float=bad juju.
What kind of HP are you putting to the ground in current trim?

Re: noob question about type r valve springs
179 whp at the moment. Im looking to put my Pro 1s back in and those put me at almost 200 with cam adjustments. I'm running stock JDM ITR cams right now on a P30 block. The ITR valves are also flat faced if I am not mistaken?
