d16y8 bogging out while accelerating

so, i've been having this problem for a while on my 97 ex. i've looked all over forums and came up with nothing. while i'm driving (with my 02 sensor plugged in) it will bog out during accel.. The 02 sensor is brand new. When i unplug the 02 sensor it runs fine. it's a d16y8 with a header, pipe, and cold air intake. I'm getting ready to turbo it so i need to figure out this problem before i can tune. Please help!!!!

Re: d16y8 bogging out while accelerating

are you sure its the right sensor? cause the wrong one will cause all sorts of problems. not having an o2 sensor will still allow the car to run, but not its best for gas mileage.

I got it from napa.. this is the second one I've had from them.. first one did the same thing so i took it back and got a new one... still the same problem. I'm wondering if it could be a wiring issue.

Re: d16y8 bogging out while accelerating

okay well that tells me its the sensor if youre constantly having issues. i would recommend a BOSCH sensor (which is actually a repackaged oem NTK sensor that hondas use). prolly advance auto has em, maybe some other place.

Re: d16y8 bogging out while accelerating

well no, then you'll really have problems. the ecu wont be able to do anything with a wideband, esp if your car came with narrowband (most cars).

okay, rule out that it's the wrong sensor. Have you ever heard of a car doing this?

Re: d16y8 bogging out while accelerating

could also be fuel delivery problem. clogged injectors or low fuel pressure, which would explain bad accel.
