jdm d15b in 96 civic
moter went out in sons car. bought a moter and it turns out to be a jdm moter. I have old moter out its a d16y8 std trans. new moter looks the same except the 2 solonoids for vtec. I have been trying to get more info on what all I have to do. has anyone done this swap and can point me in the right direction. I don't have a lot of time to do this so any information is appreciated. found out this is a 3stage vtec imported from japan anyone done this exchange?

it should bolt right in, however you are gonna need the jdm ecu for it to work properly, specifically the vtec. it wont run right otherwise. and you have to run wires from the solenoids to the new ecu manually.
