2000 civic si motor?
2000 civic si motor?
i just got my civic si a month ago everywhere ive looked online its said that there soposed to be B16A2 1.6L DOHC motors but im not to sure that is what is in my car where would i look to find that out besides on the valve cover cause its not there.
Re: 2000 civic si motor?
why dont you think you have a b16? as you're standing in front of the car, looking at the engine, on the left side of the exhaust manifold, there should be a number stamped on the block. it may be covered with oil, dirt, grease, etc... but it's there. That is your engine code. also if you post a picture of your engine, we can tell if it is a "D"series or a "B" series engine.
Re: 2000 civic si motor?
are your spark plugs dead center in the vlave cover or are they kinda facing twords the front....and does your car move(b16) when you step on the gas or does it crawl (d16) lol come on we all know these single cam cars are on the slow side..
Re: 2000 civic si motor?
If it is in fact a true Si and not one with your local auto store "si" stickers then you should have a B16a2. It is the american ( USDM ) version of the b series engine. I belive the JDM markings should say only B16A but i could be wrong but that is typicly all i've ever seen. You can usually distiguish the JDM series apart by the markings on the piston rods them self / ie. P27, P28, something of that nature. Please correct me if im wrong cause i am in no ways a know it all.
