Why not.
Fun fact: better results have been seen with automatic transmissions that run nitrous applications.

Re: Turbo Kit On Automatic??
the dezod numbers posted on their site are from an auto. i have always given it thought, but the weak auto in the civic makes me nervous about trying (and so does my warranty).

well your turbo wont have to spool every time the thing shifts so you will have constant boost as long as your foot is down, but more than likely, you can say goodbye to your transmission. build the trans, and youll be fine. however turbo cars are fun to drive..i cant imagine an automatic being fun to drive, thats just me

Re: Turbo Kit On Automatic??
If you are only keepin it till late spring, dont boost it...value goes down significantly. turbo is nice for tuners and they would offer more, but not if the car is auto unless they can swap a manual in...not familiar with trannies, especialy automatic ones so I duno
Re: Turbo Kit On Automatic??
i want to add a turbo to my car...i hear it can be done but seriously whats cheaper or easier...adding turbo and doing the correct mods to make my automotic able to handle a turbo....or just change it to a manual and turbo it then.

Re: Turbo Kit On Automatic??
All depends on your power goals. If you're happy with 5psi and around 165whp, then turbo away. If you know you won't be happy with that amount of power, then yeah, convert to a manual straight away to save yourself a headache and downtime later down the road.
Re: Turbo Kit On Automatic??
thanks... i guess ill do it.. ima look into what kinda transmission work has to be done and ill do it... im fallin in love with my 6th gen n i dont wanna let it go whn i get the Audi... LOVE THE CIVIC.. thnkz guys..!
Re: Turbo Kit On Automatic??
the clutch was replaced at 110k but thats about normal. audis are deffinately NOTORIOUS for electrical problems though. strangely i had none with mine even the power mirrors worked when i sold it with no electrical repairs... my advice: unless you can afford paying 40k for a new one, DONT BUY ONE. they are very nice cars but chances are maintenence on a used one over 5 years will probably be as much as buying a new one Re: Turbo Kit On Automatic??
i know i was lucky. knowing now what i know about audis i would never buy one again. besides it takes just about a rocket scientist to fix anything. why do you think i went from an expensive all wheel drive german car to a civic lol?
Re: Turbo Kit On Automatic??
im in the process of boosting my automatic (well saving up)...i know some ones going to ask why....long story short got in an accident a while ago and messed up my right hand to the point where i can bearly grab a hold of anything so it would be hard to shift gears...
anyway im thinking about a b18 swap and keeping it auto then boosting it because honestly how many people would think of doing that
