Moonroof in a 97 LX?

Is there a decent way to have a moonroof installed in a 97 LX Sedan? Just throw me some numbers on how much one might charge for this and where it can be done. (Give me numbers for having it done completly vs. also If say I get parts for it from a junkyard first then have someone cut and do the labor) Thanks!

get the parts and then get it done. Gotta go to a body shop and have them hack the roof and do the install, you'll need the sunroof headliner too. You could probably figure out the wiring.

Yeah, the wiring shouldn't give me a problem. How much do you think a body shop would charge for this? Est.~

Re: Moonroof in a 97 LX?

I have no clue. if your able to get the entire roof from a car, it should be a little easier I would assume? Cut and weld essentially. Then you gotta get them to clean up the welds, sand it down, and get it painted. This way would be easier in the sence you have all of the attachment points on the roof allready. You know the sunroof has to slide to open (not sure if yours is inside the car, or on top of the roof), but the mounting points for the headliner, and there are a few simple brackets that the lights and junk screw into. Best bet would be to take your headliner off, and the headliner of a moon roof car like yours, and compare the inside roof to see what you'll need to change.

Removing my headliner is pretty easy (7th gen). Just pull the weather stripping off, unscrew all the lights (pry off the lense first with a razor blade), and pop the pillar panels off- the seat belt one as well- which requires a rachet for the seat belt bolt that was like 18mm or something.

Ask yourself, is all that hazzle and expense worth, for a window to the sky?

I say, yes! Especially if you work in an office all day with no windows.

Let the sun in.
