Thumbs up 97 ex. What now?

I just purchasd a 1997 Civic Ex. automatic transmission. I was wondering what i should do first to make it something to look out for heh. (dont tell me to get a manual because if i woulda found one i woulda got it....) Anyways. I'm thinking about putting on a cold air intake and an exhaust, i am a college student so im on a budget, i just want the most bang for my buck without blowing my engine.

All imput is greatly appreciated and will be taken seriously. - Thank you.
