B16 or B18 for a hatchback?
i came across a deal for a 92 hatchback for $1k and its an excellent condition! if i did buy it of course i'll be swapping the motor. i found a reliable site that sells engines for swaps and wanted to get some opinions on which one i should buy. a B16A from a 95 SiR-II which is 160Hp and 111Trq for $2250 or get the b18c1 from a 95 gsr which is 170Hp and 121Trq for $3150? i was leaning towards the b16 cuz its only 10 less horsepower/torque for $900 less. those prices include everything for a swap. which engine would you swap for going all motor?
I wish I was asian

i'd go for the B18. I've talked to loads of people who own B16s who have pretty much have gone as far as they want to go with that motor. They all tell me one thing though, they all wished they had more displacement.
dx? cx? si?....i'd just turbo charge the hell out of the single cammer and spend the rest on suspension and wheels...you'll easily get 170-180hp and probably more torque than the other two 140-160ft lbs./trq.

its a CX model. i talked with a guy at a local shop, he suggested the b18c5 since i wanted to go all motor but $4k is more than i want to spend on a engine so then he suggested the b18c1 and turbo it. he thinks with that swap, turbo and some other work it could easily break into high 12's, low 13's.

really? so you think i should go c1 turbo'd or all motor c5?
edit- i guess it would be cheaper to get the c5 in the long run since all i would need is about $5 for the motor and the install but for a turbo'd c1 i would need the motor, the install, the turbo, the install of that, and all the other little things you need for turbo (s-afc, gauges, etc...).

this would be my dream car right here, its one of the cleanest hatchbacks i've seen and he runs low 13's.
