Head Unit Removal
i know i looked at the DIY and it was off...i have a 2003 EX manual...in the DIY ..the first thing to do is pull where the cigarette lighter is..well i was pulling away then i was like you know what this isnt going to work...so i removed the whole center console......and then come to realize they were screwed in from the rear...
wait wait...he's talking about 2000EX, eh?
sorry about that..
i heard from my friend that the DIY for the 6th gen is even easier.....the front panel in 6th gen is easier to pop up.....i think it's probably the same way, eh?

Yea man they are screwed in fro the rear. youy have to unscrew it with a small screwdriver I think mine had two (cause I had an aftermarket radio put in and I put two additional screws onstead of one). It isn't hard just don't forget to replace the screws i the back. the first I didn't replace the screw and my car was broken into and the radion was practically giftwrapped for him/her. Good LUck
I saw a nice DIY on the net about how to install a new deck and remove the stock one somewhere can't remember where thow google search it.
( removal of stock head unit in a 2000 EX )add honda civic in the front might help too.
