Installed Stage 2 Crower cam....now it's running rich
Well I finally installed my cam and it sounds great but I'm having issues with the idle. It is either too high (around 2K) or it's way too low hovering around 400-500rpms and dies sometimes. What do I have to do to make it run more lean? I still have the stock ECU too. It has a lot more mid range power but lacks on low and high end.

unfortunately with the exception of stage 1, the others require the management system, as we talked before. until then it might be like that.

Just like Sdaidoji said, a stage 2 cam requires an EMS system. It also requires upgraded valves, springs, retainers and likely an hour on a dyno to get it running properly. If you don't have all those things, take the cam out now and save your engine while you can.

ah, he have them, actually.
He asked in the past about the stage 2 or 3, and now that i re-read, actually it was 02Civicsi02 who told him of the EMS requirement.
here is the previous post

BTW, looking closer, he had a unreplied inquiry in november about the ECU... Have not been in the 6th gen forum at that time, but i would not be able to answer either... I don't have a EMS anyway

I try to make sure every thread gets at least one response, but sometimes one slips past all our radar.
If that ever happens OP should bump it so people notice.

Re: Installed Stage 2 Crower cam....now it's running rich
Yea I knew about the ems but I still wanted more power. It is running much better now. There is a good power increase too. It seems to have a lot more torque now. The idle hangs around 800 rpms now but sometimes it goes up to about 2K. If I give it a little throttle the idle goes back down again. I intend on getting some kind of engine management but it seems to be running fine now.
