Cooling Fan Question

Hello, I have an 04 Civic 1.7 Auto. and have read many threads on the issues that people are having but I'm not sure I found an answer to my problem.... The cooling Fan comes on almost immediately after car is started, even when cold. They continue to run off and on all the time. I did read a post where the fans will come on if the heater fans are on I believe but mine comes on with heater on or off. I don't have any heating concerns, car runs mid temp on the temp gauge and all appears to run ok..
Any idea where I should start? I cant see it being the Temp sending unit as the dash gauge would be inaccurate I would think?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Re: Cooling Fan Question

The fan will also run with the vent position know in defrost. Defrost turns on the AC which causes the fans to run.

Re: Cooling Fan Question

Find the double secret code that will allow you to inhibit the compressor. Did it to my 7th & 8th gens.

Thanks for the reply- so having said that- If the Heater blower fan is off, the Fan(s) should not come on then correct? and vice versa- heater blower fan on = Cooling fans will come on?

Re: Cooling Fan Question

^^^ Keep in mind if you change in and out of modes the compressor will engage again.... but can be released by pressing the A/C button again.

Not heater, but AC. The HVAC system automatically runs the AC while in either defrost setting (blower fan must be on of course) regardless of temperature setting.
The AC is used to dry the incoming air and clear the windshield quicker.

The fans must run whenever the AC compressor is engaged, and/or whenever the engine coolant temp is high enough to need to cool the radiator. Both systems can control the radiator fans.
