New 2005 Red EX Coupe Special Edition
Hi guys I just joined and I have a 2005 special edition coupe and I was wondering what some cheap mods are I can buy to boost horsepower, and then what rims I should get. It has alloys already but I want to get some black ones with red trim, but I don't know which brand. Please help me out! Thanks! (Yes it has a spoiler).

Welcome to the forum.
Civic's are econo boxes and there is very little you can do to gain hp without spending thousands of dollars on either engine swaps or turbo builds.....sorry.
Stage 1 cam for a 7 gen is apparently about the only simple thing that can be done....and not cheap either.

Welcome.
You can add little stuff to make the engine sound better and gain a little bit of power, like intake and headers. A stage 1 cam is the one that will make the biggest difference.
As for wheels, get whatever you like. Some popular brands include:
Rota, Enkei, Koning, xxr. Check out tire rack and discount tire to get an idea of what style wheel you like.

CarId is fine to start with the headers.

unless you can install it yourself
or unless you are independently wealthy beyond belief, and if that was the case you wouldn't be driving a civic

Lol, I think I would keep my civic if I won the lottery.
Exact hp increase from a stage 1, I couldn't tell you. The % increase for mods always sounds low for civics because they don't have a lot of hp to start with. A 10% gain would be 12.7 hp. Doesn't sound like much but it's still 10%.

I would too. Everybody needs a shooting car.
12 hp.....that would be like stock Civic + say a chainsaws worth of power for an extra $1000 or $85 per hp.
Just my humble opinion but make sure your engine is in A+ running condition and don't worry about hp gains. Take the money you would have spent on stage1 cam + I/H/E and put it into suspension/sway bars/tires/rims and stereo and you'll probably be much further ahead.
Especially in this case since it's an automatic.

Ok I'm looking for a way to personalize my car without making it look ridiculous. Any ideas? Also I found a relatively cheap lowering kit and want your guys' opinion on them. Thanks!

Wouldn't be my first choice in springs.
Check out Tein or Eibach springs. If you want the same drop as the k-sport springs check out Neuspeed springs. Your going to need struts also, Tokico or Koni's.

Re: New 2005 Red EX Coupe Special Edition
As far as lowering, coilovers are the best way to go, because you can get adjustability and raise up for the winter need be. you wanna go slammed coilovers are the way to go! If u dont mind being at a fixed height, and want the quick cheaper way into the lowering scene, go with a good pair of struts and shocks.
The CHEAPEST set of coilovers are Raceland Coilovers that will run you $400
The EXPENSIVE coilovers are usually $800-$900. (Tein, Skunk 2)
Usually you end up paying $800-$900 if you buy a good set of springs and shocks so you might as well save up and get a nice suspension.
