Hey guys I have a Honda Civic 2003 LX. I am pretty new at cars in general, I am pretty much a computer and phone kinda guy, so please bear with my noob knowledge. What I want to do is Install a new stereo into my car, i was looking at http://www.crutchfield.com/S-eDIOw8h...KD-X250BT.html I am ready to buy, I have been researching for hours about removing panel, but I see a lot of videos of people sauntering wires which really freaks me out. Would I have to do this or would it just be a plug in play and be a simple install. Also, do I have to buy a car installation kit? I eventually would want to install an amp and subs. Thanks a bunch if you guys could help me out.

If you buy the adapter cables from Crutchfield then you will not need to solder the connections. They will provide an adapter that connects to the head unit and the OE wiring. You will need a DIN kit and those wiring harness for the instal. Later you can get an amp wiring kit when you are ready but since you have the radio out you might want to just run the wires for it, up to you.

It's been a couple of years since I bought a head unit from Crutchfield but at that time they supplied a connector the matched the OEM plug and you had to connect it to the connector from the head unit. It is not necessary to solder the connections, you can use crimp connectors or wire nuts and tape. Most people prefer solder because it makes the best connection. As far as I know they will not provide a pre-made connector for JVC to Honda.

Use butt connectors, I prefer that over soldering.
