Once a year change for me on full synthetic.

I do twice a year with semi synthetic because I put a lot of miles on.

I go about 7,500 on full synthetic, I use whatever I can find a good price on at the time. I put Castrol Edge in last time, it still has a good brownish color, even after 4k. It works out to be 2 to 3 oil changes a year, so I definitely go by mileage, not time.

i think he means why are you using 5w30 when it says to use 5w20 on your oil cap???
