Aftermarket headlight assemblies
Aftermarket headlight assemblies
Alright y'all, so as you can see I got an 04 civic ex, sweet little car but I wasn't really happy with the headlights, so I went out and bought a pair of smoked aftermarket ones. Now don't get me wrong during the day they look sweet the gray with the black is perfect, but at night, they are crap. Even with my HID which are 6000k, I would be better off with a flashlight out the window, and literally turning on my highs doesn't do jack. So I am gonna return them, but I want y'all's opinion on a good aftermarket brand and style, I think halos look really good, but I have been told aftermarket ones are kinda crappy and when I buy headlights buy them from the manufacturer. I've looked at spec'd's stuff and I like their halos, I just want y'all's opinion, do any of you have them, do you know something better? Are those really good, can I plug my current hids into them or do i have to mod them.

Re: Aftermarket headlight assemblies
Well getting smoked headlights was probably your first problem of low visibility. I own a pair of TYCs and they work great. You can do a retrofit on those as well as your stock headlights
Re: Aftermarket headlight assemblies
i would imagine a little trimming would be required for the one shown in the picture or you could opt for the Mini Gatling Gun Shrouds.the graphite ones look cool because there clear they give off a glow at night.

Children children, stop fighting,
I put my stock ones back on and aligned them and cleaned them holy crap those smoked ones were worthless, i thought my stock ones were bad, those were like holding a pin light out the window and now I have freaking spot lights. I cleaned my stock ones with windex and tooth paste and just buffed them like you would your paint, spray cleaner, scrub, spray more cleaner when it dries, scrub. I did that and I helped clean it for sure, they aren't completely crystal clear, but it went from yellow to just a little foggy so I am pleased, and now that I aligned them higher they are so much better. So in this I'm gonna say I'm stickin with stock parts. But next up, fogs, I'm prewired so should I get the little $50 assemblies and put hids in? I don't think it would make sense if I didn't since I have them in my headlights, but what color? For affectiveness?

Hey M00n3at3r, I got the halos from spec d installed in my white 2001 ex. It looks great and the brightness of the light is almost the same as the stock lights. I've asked my friends what they thought and they told me it looks hot especially with my new black rims I installed today. If you're planning to buy it just get the headlights. The HID wont work with the halo lights. Dont buy the headlight and fog light combo cuz the fog light is crap. The bulb got so hot it cracked the plastic glass cover of the fog light after one day of driving with it.

So my dude, should I just try and find OEM fogs that will fit in the cut outs in my bumper? If I put fogs in I'm puttin in HID's
