How would you fix this

hello everyone,
I checked few auto shops but could not find the answer. I believe this can not be painted, as the paint layer would be too thin.
my car paint otherwise is really good but the window looks dirty.
what are my options?

Anything can be painted. I had the same problem area on my Integra, had a body shop paint it. No problem.

so what kind of paint to be used, i think with normal car paint will be able to paint it black but the original one is kind of thick layer (like a plastic)

Re: How would you fix this

u want to mask everything first except for that line. scrape off all that excess plastic paint stuff.

then clean it well. sand it lightly with 600 grit. primer it. spray a tough paint on it. (i use BBQ grill paint. that stuff goes on like it was powered coated.

I don't think touch up paint will last there. I'd replace it.

Re: How would you fix this

that's good information lowlife9. Anyways, I found a cheaper solution.many hard core mechanics would not like it
I bought electric tape from walmart, scrap the paint(to whatever extent i can) and stick the tape on that ages. I will post the picture soon.
I washed my car once after this and no problems so far. its definitely not long lasting, but will serve the purpose for few months.

Wow really. You can replace it for 21 bucks and this is your fix? I mean, after the tape starts to wear off replace it so it looks right

I guess its not just 21. must be 21 X 2 or (21 X 4) since paint near all 4 windows is like the images I posted with my initial post.
