Rubbery squeak on accel.

2002 LX Manual Sedan

When I accelerate in 1st from a stop, like taking off after a traffic light, I get a squeak sound, but it only happens intermittently. It happens more frequent and is more pronounced if accelerating into a turn.

It doesn't at all sound like a belt sequel or a metallic squeal as if it were a U-joint. It sounds similar tire squeal but MUCH quieter than that and will happen even if I'm very gentle with the clutch. The closest way to describe it is the sound of slowly dragging rubber across wet glass (but don't imagine the glass resonating).

Re: Rubbery squeak on accel.

maybe you can get an audio clip of the sound, that would help.
