Bye Bye EM2

Been awhile since I've posted, but I always loved this forum so I figured I'd give an update.

My fiance and I had a baby girl on January 26th and the EM2 died on the 27th. Downshifted to pass someone, all of the sudden around 6500rpms the car started sounding like a lawnmower (and driving like one), not sure how but I bent the valves. So in a rage I sold my shell over on the dark side (b20vtec) with all the mods for $1500 (crower stage 1 cam, AEM cold air, megan header, custom exhaust, EM1 Si wheels etc...). Long story short, it was like a wake up call. I was tired of the D17 paired with the heavy EM2 and the K swap just wasn't in the books.

So two nights ago I changed things up and went old school. I picked up an 89 CRX Si with a freshly rebuilt D16Z6 running a Garret t3/t4 .60 trim for $2200. Waiting for the motor to break in a little then I'll go get a tune. If anyone knows any good tuners near the jersey shore let me know!

I have a friend who has a 91 CRX Si hatchback with a rebuild. No matter what we have tried, that thing ideals horrible, but that car is funner then anything else Ive drove. Its the only car ive ever been pulled over in, and Ive been pulled over a few times in it. Hope you like it.

Re: Bye Bye EM2

Its a stick running on an auto p28, I might just buy a used s300 with a manual p28 or just convert it, the DIY auto/manual p28 looks pretty simple. Right now it's just stock running 5 psi until the motor breaks in a little.

It's got a Garret t3/t4 60 trim, turbonetics wastegate, cometic head gasket, arp head studs and rod bolts, greddy catch can, pwr fmic, fidanza 7lb flywheel, exedy stage 2 clutch, 3in downpipe, skunk 2 exhaust, new axles, new alternator. I think I got it for a steal imo ($2200). The guy was a mechanic for dodge and he was having a baby so he had to get rid of it, just happened to luck out cause my buddy is a honda mechanic and knew the guy, so everything was straight. I'll take some pics and start a build thread soon, it's not a 7th gen so I don't want to flood this thread with to much on it
