Scraping turning noise---can't find it!
Scraping turning noise---can't find it!
I have two things going on.
The first: When I turn HARD left I hear a scraping coming it seems from the passenger side. I had thought it was a rear wheel bearing so I replaced it but I still have the noise.
The Second: My car from somewhere around the back end and trunk groans and creaks sometimes when going over bumps but also when coming to a stop and accelerating. I had thought that it was the trunk springs hitting my speakers but I put cloth over the places that were close to hitting and the noise didn't stop.
Any help is very appreciated. I just want to fix this thing.

Are you lowered? Aftemarket Rims/Tires? My front tires used to rub my fender liners and still scrape against the inner fender.
As for the rear sounds, you can have written LCA or shock bushings, loose top hats, broken endlinks, etc. You need to get under the car and do a visual and shake test.

I am totally stock now for suspension and wheels (saving for a drop and wheels). How do you do that test? Anything I've learned I've learned from this site. 2 yrs ago I didn't have a clue about cars.
Re: Scraping turning noise---can't find it!
Jacked up the car. I couldn't replicate the sound when turning but I think it might be the passenger front wheel bearing. When I jacked it up the groaning noise happened until the struts were fully un-compressed. So I'm pretty sure the groaning noise is bad struts. Stuck in a pickle... I wanted to put in tokicos with pro kit this summer but until I start my summer job (college kid) I can't afford it.
