Transmission problem?
Transmission problem?
Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and I'm in need of some help with my 2001 Honda civic (automatic by the way).
Well I woke up this morning to go to school, turned my car on and to my surprise I wasn't able to switch gears.
I'm not too good with cars and any help from you guys will be highly appreciated!
Anything I can do about this?

Re: Transmission problem?
I'll assume you mean that you can't move the shift LEVER....?
First, see if the brake lights work. Brake light switches have been a common problem.
Pop out the little rectangle next to the shifter, and insert a key, then move the shifter.
This is explained in your owners manual under "shift lock release". RTFM. Page 182 in a manual for a sedan.
Now drive to a shop and get the problem fixed.
