Rubber End came off Ignition Coil
Rubber End came off Ignition Coil
When attempting to change the spark plugs on my wife's 2001 Civic, I had a problem getting one of the ignition coils out. The rubber end "gasket", for lack of a better word, came off the ignition coil and is now stuck down in the cylinder around the spark plug. I've tried putting the ignition coil back down into the cylinder to see if the gasket would seal itself around the end of the coil, but no luck. Any ideas on how I can get the gasket out, hopefully in one piece? Also, does anyone know if the gaskets are sold separately, or will I need to buy a whole new ignition coil?
Thanks so much for the help; it's definitely appreciated.

Use a piece of coat hanger, bend a tiny hook on the end and fish it out.
Or use an air gun with a length of 3/16" brake line soldered into the fitting, blow the rubber out.
I"d probably get a new coil since now the rubber boot isn't sealed and will be a possible path for spark leakage.

Spray some penetrating oil in there and use a pick and screwdriver. I dont think the boots are 2 parts. However in either case I think its better to replace.
