I got into a small accident two months ago and haven't washed my car since because I was worried about rust settling into places it shouldn't be settling in. But I can't stand seeing insects/dirt/etc on the clean paint the previous owner worked hard to maintain. (Bought the car two and a half months ago)

Is it safe to wash my car even though my actual bumper is slightly exposed?

Here are some pictures. I already replaced the tail light. Replacing the bumper is a bit pricey for me so I'll have to deal with it for a little longer. But I wanna wash my car so bad. Just wanna be safe than sorry hearing stories about rust.

The bumper cover is plastic. Everything it covers was already exposed to the elements before the bumper got damaged, you just can't see it.
JMO: Wash the darn car.
You aren't going to hurt anything.
When the bodyshop gets the car to fix the damage, ask them to check for rust, worry about it then.

Hell yea u shud wash it..fyi for the time beeing u shud take a heat gun and a wet rag heat the bumper and with the wet rag bush out the dent from the inside shud pop rite out..but dont over heat and melt it

Someone in a Camry and I rear-ended each other. Both our faults but his car barely took damage. At least now, I can get an 04-05 bumper

Alright, I'll give it a nice wash with a nice waxing too bc she deserves it.

Just wanted to make sure rust wouldn't be an issue bc I was paranoid about that. heh
