Door Lock Actuator Slipping?

My passenger door lock actuator sounds as if it is slipping. There is noise when I use both the button on the drivers side and the key fob. Last time I took the door panel off I checked the actuator by testing it, and for some reason it worked. The next day it didnt work, felt like the actual lock was stuck or the actuator was slipping.

Has this happened to anyone?
What can be done to fix this?
If I replace the actuator will the problem go away?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Door Lock Actuator Slipping?

The actuator will either work or or doesn't. If it locks/unlocks ur door then it works. If it doesn't then you need to get it replaced. There is a DIY on here. It's not hard

Re: Door Lock Actuator Slipping?

My passenger side on my 05 was similar. It got slower and sluggish over time on the unlock. And more noisy. When it got to the point it would sometimes not lock properly I replaced it.

I noticed that if you worked the lock/unlock several times it would return to normal speed for a while until it sat.

When the car has been sitting a while and unlocking look at the speed of the lock **** to see if it is slow/sluggish on the unlock.

I think your actuator is the problem. It is just a little DC motor with a worm gear. Very common to fail on 7th gens.

Re: Door Lock Actuator Slipping?

Thanks guys, I have done my drivers side door.
I also bought the actuator a month ago.
I just wanted to know if I really had to replace it or not.
I'll do it later today most likely.
