2002 Civic ex rebuilt manual transmission - should I buy it?

Hello all!

I am planning on buying a red 2002 Honda Civic EX with 133,000 miles on it for $4900.
While test driving it I noticed the clutch was slipping. They replaced the clutch and found out that the transmission's internal bearings are shot. They sent it to a trans shop to rebuild it with a warranty.

My question is...is this something I should be concerned about and NOT buy this Civic or Should I be happy that it is getting rebuilt and BUY it???
Once again it's a 2002 Civic EX with a MANUAL Transmission.

Thank you for your help!

You're paying for the rebuild at that price. If you like it get it. Just be thankful they had to deal with it and not you. The bearings have been an issue with these transmissions but, I've run on mine for 4 years now and have no problems besides an annoying noise.

Ok thank you. I will have it inspected at a shop before buying it. But I do like it.
75% of people polled said it's a good thing it is getting rebuilt. The other 25% think it is a problem prone car. It was bought at auction by this place and so far has had a new front wheel bearing, a new front control arm, a new motor mount, a new clutch, and a rebuilt transmission. It also has a new red paint job with nice wheels.
And they are still going to sell it to me for $4900!
Thanks for the insight!
