How to jack-up lowered car.

Hey, I realized that with just even a small drop, my floor jack (not low-pro) JUST cleared the front bottom bumper by lifting at the center point of the sub-frame.
The saddle pad to lift is actually 5", but the rest of the body is pretty high, and I have to stick the jack pretty much under the whole front of the car to reach the center sub-frame jack point.

Well, got me thinking, it definitely wouldn't fit with anymore of a drop.

How do you guys jack your car up?

Was thinking to use a scissor jack on one side to give me just enough room to slide a floor jack to the center point to life vehicle evenly. And then I would use jack stands on the side rocker lift points.

Re: How to jack-up lowered car.

Before I even finished reading your post the 1st thought that came to mind was to use the scissor jack.lol.

Just crank it up on the chassis near either tire on a level surface enough to squeeze a floorjack onto the main jack-point in closest to the bumper

Re: How to jack-up lowered car.

I have to use the stock jack like 7genmarathon said. I dont think even a low pro jack will fit under my car. the stock one just fits.

Re: How to jack-up lowered car.

yeah mine is the same way like 2mm for the jack to slide under lol. the only part i miss is i used to be able to change the trans fluid when the car was stock without raising it up. now its too low to fit under.

I'm to scared to use ramps. For some reason I'm afraid they're gonna shoot out when I drive up on them.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of ramps either.

I like the 2"x6" idea, or the starting it with scissor jack.

The most annoying thing with the wood is lining it up. Have a friend do it

Re: How to jack-up lowered car.

I built a pair of ramps out of 2x8 and 2x6. Only way to go if your 2" off the ground. (lip)
