2001 civic, left headlight wiring problem

Hello, My left headlight is out (I check bulb and fuses and the plug all good)
I checked the wires with a test-light at the plug and have power at both the red/white & red/yellow wires.
When I check the red/blue wire (ground?) I checked with tester hooked to power and it barely lights up very faint though.

From looking at the haynes wiring diagram the red/blue seem to go to the under-dash fuse box.

I'm thinking of of just tapping an extra ground from the frame to the red/white, bad idea?

Thanks for any help.

Re: 2001 civic, left headlight wiring problem

The bulbs are provided +12 volts to the common terminal (left = RED/YLW). The grounding path is provided through the headlight switch for either the low beam leads or the high beam leads.

The correct wire color for the low beams is RED/WHT. red/blue is for high beams.
