Hey everybody!
First off, I have a silver 05 ViP coupe. No wing, body kit, nothing. That stuff is too rice for my taste.
Putting on 04', 15" Honda wheels (EX I believe) silver in color (once I repair them, the ones pretty biffed up, looks somebody tired to swipe the centercaps with an effing crowbar...plan on a DIY from me)

In addition, im installing brembo drilled/slotted rotors, cause they look sick and I scored them cheap off craigslist. My Uncle has them on his 99 M3 bimmer, and they really set it off.

SO:

I was thinking RED, but everybody has that, an its a lil too flashy.
Black would be nice, but too dull. (no offense other guy that painted em black, they look good
Then I was on my CAD forum (cadforum.cz) talkin to some guy from the netherlands and he suggested GUNMETAL BLUE...sounded cool.

What do YOU guys think?
I also plan on accenting some engine components with said color...or one that goes/matches.

I say go black. I have always done black except for my first car, I had blue. Blue looks rice to me. Black just keeps things clean and simple and doesn't draw attention. Just my 2 cents.

Apperance is always personal opinion. See I think gunmetal blue looks like **** Silver is a neutral color so it will go with almost anything.

I wana do something different, that contrasts nicely and is noticeable...but not flashy...

Only time I like seeing a bright noticeable caliper on a car is when its a good name brand. (wilwood, brembo, etc...)

I painted mine silver on my silver car and they look very good, I'd post a pic but I have winter rims on at the moment so you can see them. They don't stand out, they just look clean and flow with the car. Once I have my rims rims refinished I'm planning on painting them pink though haha

I've seen red many times and it stands out to much, especially on the rear drums. Blue, Yellow or Black would also look good though.

Thats what ive been thinking...a shade of blue...I think I may be limited with rattle can color selection though...

Maybe I could lighten/darken with primer? I remember I refinished my MC fairings with white primer then red, came out almost matching the factory finish. Then I ran out of white and used gray, the red then came out kinda maroon...

painting stock calipers other than black is in fact rice...yes fact.

the only reason u pain calipers is to make them stand out...and why would u want to make OEM crappy *** civic calipers stand out?

i mean if u had wilwood or brembo six piston mono block calipers or a big brake it then itd be a different story.

Urban dictionary defines non-stock rims as rice :P just thought i'd throw that out there. From 1-10 on the rice-o-meter, i think i'd give painting calipers a 1 :P

i did mine red last year since i had a random can of red high heat paint kicking around.. it stood out wayy too much with my 17's on. Im rocking the stock steelies and studded tires now for winter so you cant see it.. but i gotta do the front brakes in a few weeks so i'll be painting them black.

So WHAT could be a sick caliper color?

We can all agree the darker the better, but black is a lil mundane.

Red is too bright.

And although I wouldnt hesitate to wear a pink shirt (only a real man can rock pink), on my car is stretching it a lil...

Im still for lika steel blue kinda shade...but how to accomplish with rattle paint?

Aight, after alot of image surfing on google, painted rear drums seem too like much color...

And as for color, im sticking with blue (brake caliper paint is rather color limited)...purple could be sick too, but I like the look of blue.

Anyone ever see painted fronts with black rears? Just throwin it out there...

how bout a darker green. it would make them pop a bit but not as much as red or silver. im in favor of the pink personally but then i drive a civic that is solid gold an sticks out like a sore thumb. o an my brembos r bright silver. sick sick stuff. good luck dude lets have pics when ur dun.
