Hi,

I need to replace the driver side door handle as mine snapped off the other day. I am considering doing this myself but apparently people have had trouble removing the clip on the lock. I found a posting here from ZeroAlligator that give some insight on how to easily remove this clip. https://www.civicforums.com/forums/1...k-removal.html

So with the proper tools it would seem that I can get the door panel and lock disassembled so that I can install the new door handle, but what I haven't been able to find is directions (or experiences) re-installing the clip on the lock. I understand, and the various posting have stated, that you reinstall things in the reverse order that you uninstall-ed them. But I guess my question is how do you re-install the clip on the lock? Do you reinstall it while you have the lock out or does the lock need to be back in at its final install location and then you push (somehow) the clip back on?

For those of you that may be rushing around to much like me, the last picture in the DIY that I linked shows the clip being reinstalled. Sorry for the useless post.
