Silly question

I see a lot of people saying ep3, em2 or whatever and I wanna know which is which. I know they're body styles or whatever (correct me if that's not accurate) but I don't know which is specifically which. And, I want to know mine. I have a 2005 Lx 4 door sedan

I thought of another question... I'll ask here instead of making a new thread. Would using a black Sharpie be ok for fixing up tiny scratches on my car (also black)?

Re: Silly question

You have a:
Generation: 7th
Chassis Code: ES1
Engine Code: D17A1
Engine Specs: 1.7L 16V SOHC, 115hp @ 6100 RPM
EM2, EP3 etc...are just chassis codes to differentiate between the models
EM2 is a 7th Gen civic EX, while EP3 i think is a 7th gen civic SI

Depending on how "tiny" those scratches are
I don't have any experience with a dark colored car, however, on my white car, i know most scratches will vanish with a little wet sanding with 2000 grit sandpaper, polishing compound, and rewaxing

I'm pretty sure you can just buff most scratches out with polishing compound (turtle wax runs for about 2 bucks) and some elbow grease

Re: Silly question

The ES1, EM2, EP3 is the chassis codes for your car. The chassis code is the 4th to 6th letter/number on your VIN number. And for scratches use touch up paint.

follow engine codes as well
http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread/t-17583.html

There is also this one that could be useful for starters
https://www.civicforums.com/forums/3...eral-info.html

Oh, yeah, there is also this one with chassis, model and engine codes in a list
https://www.civicforums.com/forums/7...ine-codes.html

This one seems slightly more complete:
https://www.civicforums.com/forums/7...ine-codes.html
there is also this:

Hey, Mindbomber, were these you were trying to put together once?
