K-Swap needed

Hey guys im new here but im looking to get a k20a2 swap for my civic. I was just wondering how everyone that has them pays for them? I can save up but it just seems like people have no problems dropping five grand for the engine and dont have a second thought about it. Just need some ideas please.

Re: K-Swap needed

Assuming you have a 7th gen since its posted in the 7th gen part. And the k20a2 are pretty expensive but very powerful motor. You can find them for farely cheap in salvage yards. You can also find them on car forums and sometimes they sell them for cheap and in great condition. The k series has shown bigger numbers than any other 4 cylinder honda motor made. So its basically the best swap and a big upgrade from your d17.

I have reserched this swap for many months and it is a 10k upgrade with all the other parts you need. I am waiting for parts myself to start the swap to k24 or type r. in my sedan, but I have a d17 automatic that is coming out.

Re: K-Swap needed

This swap is no where near 10k in cost. Hell the type r swap is not that much. The k20a with the tranni, wire hraness, ecu costs 5800. After that all you will need is a couple things which adds to 6500 or 7000 so no where near 10k. Hell you can k swap a car for 3500.
