Transmission Problem?

I have a 01 civic lx auto 88K miles and when i come to a complete stop then hit the gas kinda hard it stutters and hesitates to accelerate. If i slowly ease on the gas its completely fine. Should i flush out the transmission fluid? I'm not sure what was in in previous. It only does it in first so it cant be the transmission is going out correct?

Re: Transmission Problem?

dont flush, follow the manual. you drain it, put in honda z1 atf only, drive for a few miles and repeat for a total of 3 times

Re: Transmission Problem?

sounds like it could also be an oxygen sensor problem.

Re: Transmission Problem?

its a bit pricey but you might want to get a trans diag done.. mine started that way.. then it happened with second.. and then boom no power at all to the wheels... torque conv **** the bed as i stated in my topic... better to replace 1 part now than have to do a complete rebuild which sucks *** and money out of your wallet

Re: Transmission Problem?

chances are the trans fluid got too hot over time wore out the clutches in the torque converter, clutch material flowed down plugged or starting to plug the trans filter (its internal to the tranny). 1-2 gear clutchs will burn out, and no it wont set a engine code. how do i know this i myself rebuilt my 01 tranny 3 months ago. spent 600 CDN in parts, no labour cause i rebuilt myself. advice for you is if you do get a rebuilt tranny, get a torque converter and install a inline filter and cooler.
