K&N short ram intake
Re: K&N short ram intake
K&N as a brand has always worked well. Just stay away for cold air intakes. My car got a ruined engine from one of those sucking up water from a puddle like a straw and hydro locking the engine.

Re: K&N short ram intake
ive had both K&N FIPK with the heat shield and the typhoon. fipk sounded terrible, typhoon was nice and gained 2whp and 7wtq on the dyno, it was a noticable gain, but both were too loud. and their filter is terrible only 92% efficient. if you go with these intakes, get an AEM dryflow filter for it or a WR SW1 (weapon-r secret weapon oiled foam with special tack oil). but they only make it in two inlet sizes so the aem dryflow is the easier way to go.
Re: K&N short ram intake
They are pretty good intakes but not as good as AEM. AM have good filters to use.
And I have read that ITBS on the k20 doesnt work out that great.

Re: K&N short ram intake
yes, that's what they do - for more power you need to have it with other mods.
You just installed a big nose that makes a lot of noise when breathing, but needs now to improve the rest of the sytem. Install some cams for better efiiciency of the lungs and then a good wide open A$$ so it will flow good from start to finish.
