No high beams, but indicator is working

When I left work tonight, I started my car (02 Civic LX coupe) then turned the headlights on, they were on low beam. I went to high beam and they came on for a split second, then both of them went out at the same time (high beam indicator on dash still working). I figured it was a fuse or relay, so I put them back on low beam and drove on home. I checked the left and right fuses and the relay under the hood and all is good. The relay looks like a low beam relay according to the picture on the box cover. Is there a high beam relay somewhere? I can't seem to find it if there is one. I figured the headlight switch on the column is good because the indicator is working and the low beam relay under the hood is clicking when I go from low to high. I really need help on this one, it's got me puzzled.

Re: No high beams, but indicator is working

Well, yall ain't gonna believe this. My girlfriend was tellin me to check the bulbs. I said "no way is it the bulbs" How can both go out at the same time? Just to be sure, I took them out and sure enough, both were shot on the high beams! I'm thinking either they both shot at the same time or one was shot for a little while and I never noticed it. Either way, I (we) found the problem. Guess I'll be gettin some new bulbs tomorrow.

glad you figured it out. if the new bulbs blow again, you may have an electrical problem, possibly the alternator regulator is messed and putting out too much current which kills bulbs fast. if you have a voltmeter, its worth checking the voltage at the headlight socket where the bulb goes.
