Well the stock pistons are 9.9:1 so yea. Keep in mind that lower compression pistons are safer as ur adding boost. Ie low comp pistons reduce the chance of knock. The only aftermarket pistons I no of are the wiseco 8.8:1
Re: Want To Go Boost Need Help
yes you can, but i wouldnt push it past say 220hp with a really good tune because the connecting rods are like toothpicks and will break. but for low boost/something under 200hp with a good tune, you'll probably be alright. Oh, and a side note, the stock pistons will not fit with crower rods so dont think about getting rods and using the stockers to get a 9.9:1. you've gotta get the wisecos (8.8:1) to fit with the rods.
also, 190k miles is a lot. you might want to look into picking up a spare lower milage motor to put all the turbo goodies on if you're not gonna build the block.

You have a lot of options for pistons and rods. Wiseco and Crower are the two heavy hitters that people tend to use. You can get any compression piston your like- wiesco will make them custom to your specs. Crower also has different rods to choose from- they have the forced induction rods, or the maxilight ones, which are 100 grams lighter (that shaves about one pound of rotating mass off the crank across all 4 rods). Eagle makes rods, so does Carrilo. Speaking of Carrilo, dezod has a budget set of turbo rods on their site for our motors: http://www.dezod.com/pd-k1.cfm
