It is suggested to be change every 3 years.
Shine a bright light through the side of the reservoir and look at the color from the other side, should similar to honey color or lighter.

I brought my car to Honda dealer for an oil change. And, they listed several things that needed to be serviced including dirty transmission oil (I knew it was somewhat dirty and i replaced it myself), dirty brake fluid (i never seen dirty or clean brake fluid in my life
), bad control arm bushing, and couple more things. Total estimate was around $1500. I suspected that they was trying to make money. I am not sure if i can trust them about other things if my brake fluid is indeed clean.

brake fluid $50, trans fluid $50, control arm bushing maybe $250 because of labor. 1500 is laughable.

Where is the control arm bushing in front axle? what does it look like? Will it cause more damage if i don't get the control arm bushing fixed? My car is a Honda Civic 2001 LX, 4Dr
I am glad know that my brake fluid is not as bad as they said.

there are two bushings per side, the big one that always fails is the compliance bushing. i replaced mine with ES poly version, thats why its so big and beefy. the oem one is terrible and always cracks. if its torn, it can seriously affect hi speed cornering and even mess up alignment specs. if it fails completely, which is very possible considering how weak it is, you will most likely crash the car. get the poly bushings once and they will never need replacing again. the only downside is they squeak in the winter going over bumps/driveways. but on a straight road, or in the summer, no sound at all.

It looks like my compliance bushings need to be replaced. Where can i buy ES poly compliance bushings for my car? Is wheel alignment necessary after replacing the bushings?

always align the car after suspension parts upgrades (bushings, shocks, springs, control arms, tie rods, anything related with how the car moves, even tires). the rsx bushings are the same as our civic.

if you remove the control arm yourself and bring to a shop they will press it in for very little money they also rent the tools at advanced auto parts for free so you can do it yourself there are plenty of DIYs around its not very difficult at all.

Does this include compliance bushings for low control arm? The biggest bushing in the picture at Amazon is not as beefy as yours

thats a generic pic. the kit number is correct and should come with 4 bushings total, two for each side/control arm and one pair is the compliance bushing.
