yes it has a lot to do with the kelvin rating or the light output. if you put an hid kit in, youd have to choose carefully on the colour you put in. if you could find a set of hids for your fogs between 3700k, 4300k or 5000k, you would be ok, but if you went up to 6000k (white) or higher into 8000k (light blue) it would just glare.
its not so much the 'hid system' itself that would give you the problems, its the kelvin rating of the light you used.
then again if you live somewhere where there isnt too much fog very often, and you want the hid fogs just for extra light output on the road, youd be ok going with 5000-6000k. but dont expect to be using them much when it gets really snowy outside or really foggy. we dont have fog very often where i live so i myself would go with a 5000-6000k.
