Re: Turbo??
01-05 dx/lx have d17a1
01-05 ex have d17a2
that turbo kit sounds like a complete piece of **** to me. it sounds like a garbage ebay one or something similar. if you are going to turbo your car, you have to be willing to spend the money on a real kit, or dont bother at all because you will have nothing but problems and risk ruining everything that currently runs fine for you. please save everyone the annoyance of giving you **** and go do some research in the 'Forced induction and swaps' section. every single question known to man about putting a turbo into our car has been asked and answered over and over again.
go back to the homepage, click 7th gen civics, then click the forced inductions and swaps forum, OR click here: https://www.civicforums.com/forums/7...nduction-swaps
yes, you need new injectors, and your stock 'computer' or ecu will work but you need to get an engine management system like AEM EMS or hondata K-pro.

Re: Turbo??
Yeah.. I kind of agree. On top of that I will add. A T04E turbo is on the very big side for a d17. Another big note for turbos in general: If you cheap out on things you will have problems from those things and things that are related. Cheap turbo = failing turbos.. blowing oil through the system etc. Cheap wastegate = problems with boost control, possible engine damage from boost spikes etc. You see where I'm going with this.
I'm using a dezod kit, which is good quality.. all be it of not the best design. On a completely shameless plug, I am pulling my turbo kit off over the weekend of the 17th. It's a dezod kit and has worked great for me. I'll have a FS thread soon.. keep an eye out for it if you are indeed serious about a turbo kit.

Re: Turbo??
Oh man...
and naturally,
I can smell what the rock is cookin, and he's cookin up a pile of ****.. This my friend, is exactly what Tuned/Baron called it to be.. Some cheap knock off, manufactured in a chinese sweatshop, 'SUPER TURBO KIT!!'. This will net you a vicious cycle of issues on a perfectly sound machine at this point.
Seriously man, not to reiterate what has already been said but you just can't cheap out on something like this. This is not a simple 'bolt on mod' that you can slap on and forget about. You're tampering with some serious **** here that is more in depth than any of us would like it to be lol.. That turbo is quite large for the application, with that said I see no mention of building/reinforcing the bottom end to handle what you're cramming down it's throat.. What about some head studs, as well as the EMS, higher flowing injectors, upgraded fuel pump..? Plus, with any turbo application your exhaust system must get upgraded as well, I believe a 3-4" is recommended for boost but I could be wrong..

Re: Turbo??
By the way Tuned, mad me laugh out loud.. From everything I've read, Foos did just about everything known to man to his little vic lol.
every single question known to man about putting a turbo into our car has been asked and answered over and over again.
Re: Turbo??
LOL, at this thread... Just take it like this, if it was the easy and cheap and good **** for ur motor, then everybody would be boosted on this forum... Nah Man it aint cheap when it come to a turbo word...
Re: Turbo??
and by the way, just so everyone can have another laugh, Warning - this may offend some of you boosted guys and make you want to vomit - viewer discretion is advised - xs power (your average no name brand turbo):

yes my friends, if any of you know any woodwork, or if we have any carpenters here....that is yellow carpenters glue. the kind of glue you stick two pieces of wood together with.
Re: Turbo??
Don't bash so much guys.. Everyone starts somewhere. I mean asking questions is better than just doing and not having a clue. There was a guy that brought a 2000 civic si with a ching chong turbo on a b20 swap into the shop the other day. Said guy had the wastegate vac line hooked to the blow-off valve. Yeah.. something wrong with that one. At least he is asking.

Re: Turbo??
suck your dick? how about you GTFO of here you ignorant little homo. dont come on here asking the simplest of **** that takes absolutely zero effort to find answers to then start slinging comments at people. everyone in this thread helped you and everyone was laughing between each other more at the junky turbo kits than about you. you were given numerous urls and places to look and you still run your mouth like a little bitch. if youre going to ask something stupid dont cry about when someone gives you a hard time.
stfu and go read while sucking on your soother.

Re: Turbo??
OK.. this thread went down hill fast. Just one more word of advice before I shut up and color. There aren't a lot of people in this community left who have a lot of knowledge about turboing these cars. Most of them have moved on to bigger and better things. If you genuinely want help and are humble about it, most of them would gladly go out of their way to help you. On the flip side, if you start freaking out and being rude those same people will just let you do what you want and let you blow your engine up.
Re: Turbo??
First and foremost Alex, you need to reconsider you viewpoint and attitude towards this forum. As Baron pointed out, a lot of the really big names and contributors have moved on and all but forgotten their little toys. Some are still lingering, others are just now sort of stepping in and making their own presence, as is the case with myself. Regardless, you must understand this is a tight knit community - a community that revolves around the passion for what we do, and respect. If you want help, if you want good, sound advice, you've come to the right place - but you have to show respect. You have to earn the respect of others. Not everyone agrees on everything and has the same viewpoints (Tuned and Baron snarled at my gas door :P) but we're all here for the same purpose and that can't be forgotten.
Now that I'm off my soapbox - SEARCH. The regulars that frequent these forums don't mind helping - that's why we're here for god's sake. When you dont search, and you just pop in and post a thread like this it shows laziness. You aren't concerned with learning, you want instant gratification. That sir, is what reaps the posts you got so upset about. We love helping, but we don't enjoy saying things over and over and posting the same links because people are too lazy to look themselves.
The links you have been provided are all very good; I suggest you read the entire section, and then read it again because you probably missed half of the info. Pay close attention to Speedfoos, when you find one of his posts I believe he even has a parts list and a bunch of tips on the install/maintenance.
