hid help plsss...

i bought my 2001 LX coupe about 2 months ago with TYC projector and hid kit. the previous owner manage to work both the high/low beam with no drl problem.. my dad was did something to it i lost my projector light on my driver side but DRL is working fine.. i tried to see what's going on past weekend i notice that my TYC headlight have female plug same with my OEM plug, they just connect it with 1 wire split into and 1 wire straight..i guess the other is ground one the with split wire is low/how beam wires..basically i switch it around and now my DRL won't work but when i turn on my low beam both my high and low beam is also on. i went to a mechanic and he said i burnt a lot of fuse(i wonder why)lol. also he said my driver side ballast might be gone, i think he might be right because the passenger side ballast buzz and the driver side doesn't. does any had this problem before?

also i live in toronto area and the cops here are very strict..lol now i'm driving around with my low/high beam on the day time..lol i really need to get this fix. can anyone help me figure out what should i do..i suppose to go to the mechanics house this weekend with new ballast so we can sort this out.

Re: hid help plsss...

a couple months ago my driver side hid stopped working, and i also checked and heard no buzzing from the ballast. i thought the ballast was burned out. i got a new ballast, connected it, and it still didnt work. it was the bulb that was burned out, the ballast was fine. i got a new bulb and it all worked fine.

if the ballast does not buzz, it doesnt mean its burned out. the ballast will only buzz when it lights up a good bulb. if its trying to light up a bad bulb, it wont buzz because theres nothing to light up. at least thats how mine worked.

you need to take the ballast from the passenger side and plug it into the driver side bulbs and see if they work. if they all work, you know its the driver side ballast thats bad. if they do not work, you know its the driver side bulb that is bad, since the passenger side ballast youre testing with is still good.
