AfterMarket alarm w/o Remote
AfterMarket alarm w/o Remote
I am new to the forum. I have a 01 LX with a few mods. I disconnected the Negative battery terminal for a project over the weekend and realized that the car has an aftermarket alarm system. The alarm shuts down the ignition. The problem is I don't have the remote to de-activate the alarm. Is there a way to bypss the alarm in the car's wiring to get juice to the ignition so I can start the car.
I have looked at a few posts here and there but i haven't found anything specific to my car's situation. Please help. I am open to ideas...even a good link to a wiring chart would be a big help.
Thanks

Re: AfterMarket alarm w/o Remote
have you tried removing the fuse for the alarm? most do not have a backup battery and therefore simply pulling the fuse will shut down the system. works for me when weird things happen and i just need to shut it off. the alarm fuse should be close to the battery in a holder of some kind, hooked to the + terminal.
