I didn't think they made superchargers?

There is a guy around here selling a D series Jackson racing supercharger that came off a 00 EX. Does that mean It would work on a D17?

Am I loosing my mind I didn't think anyone made D series superchargers.

What a shame, what wouldn't work I thought the D16 & D17's were similar.

The pulley would be located in the strut tower. Not enough clearance if there is any at all.

Yeah the pulley is on the wrong side, but its possible with customization (not taking into account the strut tower), you'd need a rod that goes across the valve cover with a pulley on each end to make it work. Some of the acura superchargers are set up like this.

Re: I didn't think they made superchargers?

Even if I could work some custom way of running it to the other said like Triz said some acuras do, I don't see a supercharger having a lot of gains for this engine???

Superchargers are sneeky little bastards. Its still boost, just like a turbo but on the intake side, not the exhaust side. It'll get the job done, esp if you run a high boost pulley.

Re: I didn't think they made superchargers?

FYI, the power generated and the power lost might not be what you'd probably expect on this car. Also kiss that MPG goodbye, as now the engine is going to be working hard for trying to push the extra pulleys.

Re: I didn't think they made superchargers?

Actually the SC TSX maintains its same gas mileage outside of boost. If you get in boost all the time, yeah your MPG will go to ****, but thats the case no matter what car's pedal you stomp on. And its only one additional pulley, SC'ers are much more streetable and sleeper then turbos

Re: I didn't think they made superchargers?

I guess I should assume if it was as easy as making some adapter to run it across my engine it would have been done already. Ill assume it wouldn't have clearance of the strut tower to even try.

Re: I didn't think they made superchargers?

Nah, the reason why its not done because a lot of people dont know what they are doing. I'm sure with a few pulleys and rods you could fit something in the area near the AC and power steering.

not to mention that the civic is not really the target of people trying to go fast, so thats another reason why no one would even try it.
