AC Noise on my EX

Ok so i got a dry noise coming from my AC area. I think its the AC compressor or the AC clutch. Any other Ideas on how i can get rid of this noise problem, i don't use my ac so can i just simply take it out without harming the whole belt system that goes by the ac?

Thanks in advance.

Re: AC Noise on my EX

im not sure what the noise is, might be the compressor going out. does the ac still work? if you want to remove it properly, its best to have a pro do it. there are alot of parts to be taken out. and then you just need a new belt size that will fit on and bypass the ac that used to be there.

Thanks Gear, The AC doesn't work, i talked to a mechanic and said that the clutch on the AC is bad so doesn't engage, i rather just take it off, Would anyone know of a good belt size, or someone taken their AC out before? i just hate the noise.

Re: AC Noise on my EX

just have it removed at a shop, be sure and tell them to remove all the components and it totals to around 50 lbs so your car will feel lighter too. they will know how to seal the system and everything so nothing happens down the road. and they should be able to replace the new belt too. its just a matter of measuring the size with a piece of string and calling auto store to get the proper size. or actually use the belt for a DX that doesnt come with ac.

Re: AC Noise on my EX

those are generally not things people switch out, so if you want to find those i would say your best bet is to go to the for sale section and try to find someone that is parting out a whole car and ask if they have that stuff.

Re: AC Noise on my EX

sorry i dont have parts anymore, if you really wanna complete the no-ac look, you can get the dx button for the a/c which is just a black plastic piece without any writing.
