Re: neuspeed strut bar HELP!
um what? hopefully you didnt take out ALL the strut mount nuts and only the two required to fit the bar on? there is no problem about depth with the strut bar. there is still plenty of thread on the stud to use the original nuts after installing the bar. everyone has this bar with no problems. usually the only issue is lining up the holes to actually get the bar fitted properly. putting the nuts back is the easy part. any pics?

Re: neuspeed strut bar HELP!
geez i dont think he knows how to do it. if the bar is fully seated on the studs and touching the metal strut tower surround, there should be tons of thread to put the nuts on. and what is an impact doing in this picture? you use TORQUE WRENCH when tightening anything on the car, esp suspension parts. i cant remember the exact torque on those but i think its around 30 ft/lbs? someone make sure. may be 70.

Re: neuspeed strut bar HELP!
just buy a tourque wrench there not that expensive and they come in handy .with the money a shop will charge you you could have your own to use whenever you need it.

Re: neuspeed strut bar HELP!
There are two types: beam and click.. With the beam, you have to be able to look at the scale to tell what torque spec you're at. I would recommend picking up a clicker, as with that you simply set the torque you need and you don't have to look at the wrench.. Very handy for automotive purposes
You can get a clicker style wrench from harbor freight for about $30 I think, and I believe you can pick up the beam styles for like $20 or so (maybe less) from local auto parts stores or Sears

Re: neuspeed strut bar HELP!
i got a big click style one that goes to around 100 ft/lbs for my lugnuts, and a small beam style one with the pointer arrow for small stuff like spark plugs but it only goes to around 25 ft/lbs i believe. i think i paid $12 for the beam and $20 for the big ampro one.
Re: neuspeed strut bar HELP!
It's a strut bar, just crank it on with a socket wrench to the point where you don't think it'll come off and leave it.
It sounds like he didn't seat the bar properly, I've put one of these on before and we had to do some twisting of the body to get things to line up properly....it wasn't much more than having someone lean on the fender and bounce it but until we did that it didn't give us enough thread to put the nut on.

Re: neuspeed strut bar HELP!
^ Yeah, they only have the black one. The polished is discontinued and not produced anymore. I've been hitting the for sale theads for months with no avail.
Re: neuspeed strut bar HELP!
Pretty sure my friend has a chrome one, let me know if you want to work out a deal for a black/polish swap. I can talk to him, don't think he really cares if it's black or polished.

Re: neuspeed strut bar HELP!
Can you get some pics of it? I'm hoping to find one in prefect condition with no rust. I dont care if the sticker isnt on there anymore, and dont care about end caps if they arent availb. Just no rust, cracks, or anything thats f'd up about it. If he doesnt care, I'll get a black one and ship it out to you for the chrome one.

Re: neuspeed strut bar HELP!
If it looks brand new and he ships it, I'll send him 130 and he can pick up a new one from corsport (where its 120 + free shipping) or he could buy a used one and have some extra cash. I think that will be easier then me buying a bar for him and us trading eachother- lots less confusion and things to go wrong.
I need pics of the bars current condition- close ups of the mounting holes and the finish and just overall pics of the condition so I know its not scratched/rusted/dinged/busted/etc. I'm pretty picky about my parts so if its used and it looks mint, then I'll pay like its new. If its a little messed up I'll be bummed, but if it still passes in my book I'll offer a little less but still make it worth his while. This all depends on condition- if its f'd I'm not interested. Hands down this is more then he'll get anywhere. Who buys a used bar for more then it costs new! TRIZ does, if its mint.

Triz it seems on racingworks.com that you can go through the whole process of getting the Neuspeed strut bar in the polished finish. It lets you have the choice and go through the payment process.
