Side Markers

Hey All

I am going to be installing side markers in a week or so and was wondering if I could get some pics posted. I am not sure where I want to place them on the fenders yet. I am thinking about a inch down form the body line but not sure where to put it from front to back.

Cheers

Re: Side Markers

That's a real clean install, Gearbox! Did you do that yourself following the steps from the DIY link? I'm looking at doing the same thing. I think the clear will look really nice on my white paint.

Re: Side Markers

yeah i diyed those. theyre from the newest si hatch (pre 06). i messed up on them cutting and was real rough, so they were loose and had to be glued on. i used plumbers goop from the back side and just went around where it touched the fender. seems to be holding just fine. i used sheet metal nibblers which worked but you cant really cut in a straight line, its more like a hole punch. be sure to use touchup paint on the cuts before putting the marker on. but overall it worked out i guess. theyre a tiny bit crooked but not that bad. i have those autozone amber 4-led bulbs in em for a clear look with amber light. you just need the lens and the bulb socket with harness plug if you order from dealer.

Re: Side Markers

Anyway, here are pics of genuine JDM fenders...hope that helps. First one is 2001-2003, second is 2004-2005:

Re: Side Markers

LOL! I didn't know there was a "passwordCanada.com". I have seen those same fenders on passwordJDM (probably same ppl) and have concidered getting them. Especial since my hood and fenders need a fresh coat of paint to due a little valve cover gasket incident on the freeway. Thanks for the links.

And to Gearbox...nice work! I think they turned out well despite the trouble you had. I have the same pair of LED's that you're talking about. Used them as frt pkg lights till I got a set of crazy-bright white ones.

well here is the new pic with custom 4 amber superflux leds put in. prolly at least 2x brighter than the autozone led bulbs and wider coverage.
